The tour committee spent the night at the Santa Ynez Marriott for the hotel experience and it was fabulous.  The rooms are super modern with very comfortable beds. The night of our arrival we had a brief meeting to discuss the tour details. Afterwards, Debbie, our hotel contact, treated us to a yummy buffet dinner. After breakfast the committee caravanned to two wineries, Los Olivos, and a lavender farm. What fun!

Father 's Day Car Show
June 2022

This was by far the best Father's Day car show if had in recent times.  The car show took place at the Santa Barbara Club (thank you Dana). We had so many awesome chrome on display from all eras along with some our members dressed to the period of the car they drove in. After the car show it was trophy presentation time during the outdoor luncheon. The weather was perfect for Father's Day. I hope you enjoy the photos I took of the event.

The Santa Barbara County Auto Expo, May 15, 2022

The Santa Barbara County Auto Expo was fun for the entire family. It included all types of vehicles – cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  So all muscle cars, classics, antiques, hot rods, rat rods, low riders, off-roaders etc.  Anything from the early-1900’s to the present… which pretty much puts any vehicle ever made in the category. Nearly 400 cars participated in the fun event.

Our member, Kevin Haeberle, started the Santa Barbara based non-profit organization called The Community Hot Rod Project is an organization that not only offers a free program to teach the youth and young at heart how to build, restore, fabricate classic cars and off-road race vehicles here in Santa Barbara. Our program promotes a positive environment that improves both personal and community etiquette that is seriously missing in our community and world today. We offer community outreach events to help those in need at no charge throughout the year on top of our day-to-day operations.

City Tour (March 2022)
A total of five cars participated in the city tour. We visited the Stow House in Goleta, The Reagan Library in Santa Barbara, Maritime Museum, and the Museum of Natural History in Santa Barbara. We were all mezmorized by the history of the Stow House and it's beauty. The Reagan Library provided us with a wealth of information about President Reagan. We stopped for lunch at the beautiful harbor and enjoyed stunning views of the harbor. We scooted over to the Maritime Museum for an awesome tour. We learned so much of our maritime history along with stunning visuals. The Natural Museum was a fun time too! Thank you Dana for putting together such a fun tour of our beautiful Santa Barbara! We look forward to another tour in the near future!

Memorial Day Meeting, May 2020

With covid 19 in full force our club president, Dana Newquist, decided that our meetings will be held outdoors at Manning Park adhering to covid rules.  We enjoyed war stories from our club members.  Our own Bob Burtess played TAPS on the bugle.  Not a dry eye in the house!  We are so grateful for those that fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Classic Car Parade for Father's Day at Senior Homes, June 19, 2020

Few of us and our nice chrome brought the Father's Day Car Show to several senior living facilities.  It was remarkable to see how grateful the seniors were to see old cars that brought up many great memories from the past.  We all stayed in the cars with our masks on as it was during covid.  It was definitely a feel good day for all of us that attended the event!
